About this Pushchair

Part of the amazing Recaro Modular System, the Celona pushchair can be transformed into a luxurious travel system by adding an Avan infant carrier (sold separately) and with the included Carrycot for the early days you can then move onto the included seat unit, although the seat unit can be used from birth on its own thanks to the lie-flat backrest. This Celona has a black chassis and comes with the Prime Silent Grey seat unit and a matching carrycot. 

Let’s start with the wheels and work our way up; The maintenance-free, foam-filled wheels are a godsend no matter what terrain you are walking on, they can handle pavements, park paths, cobblestones or grass with ease. The large rear wheels and outstanding suspension on all four wheels ensure that every trip is as comfortable as possible. Here we can also talk about the basket – this is large and has plenty of space for carrying all the necessities a baby needs. The brake is easy to use, even wearing sandals or flip-flops in the summer!

Moving up we have the seat unit. This can be installed on the frame either facing the parent or facing the world, whichever you and your little one prefer. It has a full lie-flat recline so you can use it from birth, but this is also helpful for when they are older and fall asleep, allowing them to nap in comfort. Moving onto the 5-point harness, this has soft shoulder and crotch pads for comfort, but it also has a couple of clever tricks too. There is the Smart Harness system for the harness buckle and shoulder straps; it’s designed so they jump forward and stay open when the child is removed making your life easier. Then there’s the patented HERO safety system – this is a single unit compromising of the shoulder pads, shoulder straps and headrest which prevents the harness from twisting and slipping again making your life easier. Then we have the final trick; this is the height-adjustable headrest with integrated harness – this means no rethreading of the harness to adjust the height, the headrest and harness move as one. The XXL sun canopy will protect your little one from the elements and is UPF 50 too. There is a viewing window built into the hood too so you can keep an eye on them, but this has the added benefit of being mesh so on hot days it provides airflow too. The foam padding in the seat adapts to your child’s body shape while the openings in the outer shell and mesh inserts in the seat allow for continuous air circulation. When the seat unit is on the frame it is also a perfect height for sitting at a table which is great when you are out and about – your baby can join in with goings-on at mealtimes.

We’ve now reached the top of the pushchair where you find a height-adjustable handle so a comfortable pushing position for all parents and grandparents can be found easily. Finally, there is the fold – the Celona can be folded into a compact size with one hand – so you can use your other hand to hold onto your little one. When it’s folded, it stands freely making storage a breeze and keeping the fabrics clean too.

Also included is one of Recaro’s great carrycots. Its spacious design with a soft foam mattress with bamboo fibre cover gives them a comfy place to snooze. The carrycot also has a panoramic window built-in, so you can lift a flap on the back of the carrycot for a great view and optimal airflow – when partnered with the flap in the hood with the same mesh, this provides an even better view. There is a large UPF 50 extendable hood and integrated carry handles too – there is even a rain cover included.
