About this Car Seat

Axkid has a reputation for being one of the safest car seat manufacturers around and with good reason, their seats consistently rate some of the highest in the super-tough ADAC and Swedish Plus Tests. With the Axkid Minikid 3 i-Size Car Seat, they have updated their amazing Minikid 2 adding some new features and putting it through the R129 certification, and like the Minikid 2 before it, the 3 has also passed the Swedish Plus Test.

The Minikid 3 has all the benefits of extended rear-facing, universally acknowledged to be the safer way to orient a car seat, but with a higher back length and with up 30cm legroom. They can stay rear-facing until your 'not so little anymore one' is around 6 or 7, up to 125cm and 36kg, which is far longer than most car seats.

Another great feature is the automatically adjusting headrest. This dynamic headrest technology adjusts the seat to the safest position based on their height and size by simply pulling the harness strap, or if you prefer, there are 14 different fixed headrest positions. The headrest is designed to protect and support your child's head and neck, the most vulnerable parts during a collision. Its geometry and materials are engineered to absorb and disperse the forces from an impact. 

The Axkid Side Impact Protection (ASIP) system was developed by Axkid and a German crash testing institute and aims to provide the best possible protection for a child in the event of a side-impact collision. The ASIP is a removable section that should be fitted to the side of the car seat that is closest to the door. 

The seat is fitted into your vehicle with a combination of the car's seatbelt and two automatic lower tether straps and secured further with an adjustable front leg, which also acts to set the seat's recline positions and another extendable rear leg which goes down into the footwell, giving the seat unrivalled safety and stability. The recline modes allow your little one to nap on a journey and stop their head lolling forward. 

When you use the seat with a child between 61-105cm tall, then Axkid recommends you use the included padded insert. This insert provides support and comfort as well as ensuring that your little one is correctly positioned in the seat. 

The fabrics of the Minikid 3 are an improvement on the already brilliant Minikid 2 fabric and that's before we talk about the premium features! It sports soft two-way stretch fabric with a high-density laminate and they're simple to remove and pop in the wash when they get dirty. With the premium version, your little one will have an even comfier ride because there's extra padding everywhere and then there are matching headrest colours, branded premium zips and mesh back cover on the seat to help with airflow and keep them cool. </
